Recently, someone asked if you could make cards from the new Sweet on You collection. Of course, the answer is yes–you can use our kits and collections to make whatever you wish. However, I was suddenly inspired to transform my Sweet on You kit into Valentines.
I looked to my trusty Idea Decks for help. Most of our card making formulas use some combination of 8.5×11 and 12×12 papers. Sweet on You includes a dozen 12x12s, so I searched for formulas that used only that size. (For a full list of these cards from past Idea Decks, see the bottom of this post.) Using just four Idea Deck formulas, I made 16 Valentine’s Day cards: Nine A2 and seven 5×7″ cards.
Idea Deck Vol. 2–7 of Hearts (Four A2 Matchbook cards)
- Paper A=White “Wood” Print
- Paper B=Red Plain
Idea Deck Vol. 2–5 of Spades (Two A2 Tri-fold cards)
- Paper A=Champagne Plain
- Paper B=Brown Plain
Idea Deck Vol. 2–Jack of Spades (Three 5×7 cards)
- Paper A=White “Wood” Print
- Paper B=Red Plain
- Paper C=Champagne Plain
When following the cutting diagrams on the back side of each card, be mindful of how you position the prints onto your trimmer so the desired artwork remains intact.
Idea Deck Vol. 2–Jack of Spades (used twice)
- Paper A=White “Love” Print
- Paper B=Brown Plain
- Paper C=Pink Plain
Idea Deck Vol. 5–9 of Hearts (Three A2, one 5×7 card)
- Paper A=White “Love” Print
- Paper B=Pink Plain

Don’t you just love these cards? Be sure to pick up a second Sweet on You collection before they’re gone…one for pages and one for Valentines!
Happy card making!
